Best pizza around! Absolutely best sandwiches ever. The Italian roast beef will make your taste buds and stomach treat you like a rock star. Well worth the 45 minute drive it takes to get here. Do yourself a favor and try anything on the menu. You won't be disappointed. Trying a tenderloin tonight.
Haven't had Arts pizza since the 1980's. Drove back to Anderson last evening and found the Art's Varsity Pizza on Main & 29th St. The pizza was as good as it was back then. The man working in there was great. He assured us it was the same recipe and also brought us a generous sample of the Italian beef. The place was clean and the wait was only for the pizza to be made. We will go back again soon.
I am a huge pizza snob. Growing up in Indiana but with all of my family in Chicago, I have always suffered from terrible Indiana pizza. It took many years to find this place, but I'm so happy I did. The only thing I recommend is the cheese pizza, BUT the cheese pizza is really really good. Outside of the Chicago land area, this is the most solid cheese pizza around. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a cheese pizza now.

Anderson IS Art's Varsity Pizza! It was the very first pizza I had as a child of the 50s and it has remained the best of the best all these years. I was in Anderson last week and couldn't resist taking one home to Indy for dinner. Same great taste that I remember. I don't know what their secret is but Art's pizza has a unique flavor like no other I've tried. And the Italian roast beef sandwich--don't get me started! Sheer Heaven. I would give Art's 10 stars if I could!
